Q&A: Sometimes warnings come

Anonymous asks: Sometimes warnings come and if people repent what was promised will not take effect or its effect will be reduced. Warnings are done so that people repent. I f they repent, events change. Remember Jonah and Ninevah and Esther who fasted and the decree changed its effect on the Jews.

Another Dr. Owuor question.  I am still bemused that my blog has become so popular about this issue as it is still not something that I have a particular interest in.

For those that don’t know the context is this: Dr. Owuor is a “prophet” who has a habit of predicting a calamity unless there is some form of repentance.  He also has the habit of claiming fulfilment of the prophecy even when the calamity doesn’t happen. I first wrote about him when one of his prophecies would have seen a tsunami wipe out my house in Somerset, Tasmania.

So I presume that “Anonymous” is pointing out that the absence of a calamity is not necessarily a derogation of Dr. Owuor’s prophetic insight, because if repentance occurs then surely the calamity is avoided as it was with Jonah and Esther.

To which I answer, with a seasoning of sarcasm:  Fantastic! I’m glad to see that the church in Australia has truly repented and prepared the way for the Lord! Job done.
